Drawings

I have drawn since a child. I would spend hours and hours trying to copy and perfect what I saw. Older now, I am more curious about imperfection and what happens when I challenge myself to make a “mess.” Line drawing is a perfect exercise for this. The challenge of constrained time and minimal marks pushes me to be present and to trust what my hand wants to express in a moment.

The illustrations here were captured on the London Underground in 2021. In the last months of the COVID lockdown the tube was quiet so it was the perfect opportunity to notice and capture the unique display of Londoner style.
